Using ApplyAtlas
ApplyAtlas is a college-application planning and writing tool. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 and meet any higher age or permission requirement that applies where you live. Keep your sign-in details secure and contact support if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You can send a request without signing in.
Your applications
The app organizes schools, requirements, deadlines, essays, and tasks. It does not submit applications, make admissions decisions, or guarantee an offer. First choice, reach, target, and safety are labels you choose for your own planning; they are not admission predictions.
Requirements can differ by year, program, campus, citizenship, and application path. Check the linked university page and your application portal before submitting. A missing entry does not mean a school has no requirement. Dates you enter and task reminders are your planning information.
Your work
You keep ownership of your drafts and entries. You give ApplyAtlas permission to store, display, back up, export, and delete them as needed to provide the service. Your entries are not automatically shared with other students or added to the public school catalog. You are responsible for having the right to use content you add.
Free and paid features
Basic planning is free and includes up to 5 schools. ApplyAtlas Plus includes up to 50 schools and draft-history tools. The launch price is US$5 per month for the first 200 paying subscribers. After those places are claimed, new subscriptions cost US$10 per month. A free account alone does not claim a launch place. A place may be held briefly during checkout, but is claimed only after a successful payment.
Launch subscribers keep their US$5 monthly subscription price for as long as their subscription continues without ending. Canceling renewal does not end the price benefit before the paid period ends; if you resume renewal before the subscription ends, the launch price continues. Once the subscription ends, the launch price is lost and rejoining costs US$10 per month, even if launch places remain. Claimed launch places are not offered again when someone leaves. Any applicable taxes are separate from this subscription-price promise.
Stripe checkout displays the final amount and recurring payment terms before you confirm. A subscription renews monthly until canceled. Cancel renewal in Plans & billing; access continues through the paid period. Your existing schools and drafts remain accessible after a downgrade, even if your school list is above the Free limit. Account downloads and deletion remain free.
Archiving schools and individual entries, and restoring them, are Plus features. Archived schools do not use an active-school slot. Archived data is kept for 60 days, then permanently deleted; the app shows its deletion date. Restoring requires an active Plus plan and any applicable school-slot capacity. Downgrading does not shorten that window, and retained work can still be exported for free. Free users can permanently delete schools or entries instead. Deleting a school removes its application, requirements, prompts, essays, draft history, and linked tasks. Deleting one entry removes that entry, its writing and history, and tasks still linked to it, not the rest of the school. Tasks moved elsewhere before deletion are kept. Permanent deletion cannot be reversed. Copies downloaded or kept on another device are not remotely erased.
Account deletion cancels an active subscription before closing the account. It is not a refund request. For a billing mistake or refund request, contact support; any applicable consumer rights continue to apply. Do not enter a real card in a checkout explicitly marked as test billing.
Essay and application reviews
Reviews are optional, one-time purchases available separately from Plus. Buying a review does not start a subscription or claim a Plus launch-price place. Before paying, select the service, package, quantity, and turnaround. The order and Stripe checkout show the price in US dollars. Each purchase covers one review of the submitted version within the selected scope; later revisions or additional materials require a new order unless support agrees otherwise.
While your Plus access is active, eligible standalone essay, activities-list, and complete application reviews receive 5% off the listed review price. School essay bundles are excluded. Complete application reviews remain eligible when optional essays are selected. Complimentary Plus access is eligible too. The discount is rounded to the nearest US cent and shown separately in your order. Eligibility is checked before checkout begins; if your access or price changes before then, you must review the updated total before continuing. A review discount does not change your subscription price or claim a launch-price place.
Single essays, school bundles, and activities lists cover only the entries and length limits shown in your order. Bundle labels describe review packages, not a guarantee of a university's current application requirements. A complete application review covers one application PDF and its non-essay sections; essay review is included only for the essay slots you select and submit separately. Use your actual prompts and check them against your application portal. At launch, application uploads must be PDF files, up to 10 MB.
Your selected 7-, 5-, 3-, or 1-day turnaround uses calendar days, including weekends. It begins after successful payment and a complete submission. The order displays its due date. By ordering, you request that work begin immediately and authorize ApplyAtlas and its assigned reviewers to access and review the materials you select. Only submit your own work or work you have permission to share. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to purchase a review.
Feedback helps you revise your own writing. The service does not write an application on your behalf, submit it, guarantee an admissions result, or guarantee that a school will accept a particular approach. You decide which suggestions to use and remain responsible for the final application and its deadlines. Avoid ordering a review whose due date leaves you no time to revise before your deadline.
Contact support promptly with your order reference for a cancellation, late delivery, billing error, or refund request. Do not assume that closing checkout cancels a completed payment or that deleting your account requests a refund. Work already performed will be considered when resolving requests, and any applicable consumer cancellation, refund, or other rights continue to apply. An open checkout or unfinished paid review must be resolved before account closure.
Keep a copy of your submitted work and completed feedback. Unpaid drafts are normally removed after 30 days; discarding an unpaid order closes it without extending that original removal date. Paid review materials and feedback are removed 90 days after completion, cancellation, or a full refund. Open paid work is kept while being resolved. See the privacy policy for access, retention, and account-deletion details.
Acceptable use
Do not access another person's account, attack or overload the service, upload malware, impersonate a university, or use the service to violate others' rights. Reasonable storage and request limits protect availability for everyone. We may restrict access for abuse or a security incident and provide a way to contact us about the restriction.
Availability
We work to keep the app reliable, but interruptions and errors can occur. Keep copies of important writing and confirm that changes have saved before leaving. Features may change. These terms do not exclude any rights or protections that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Independent service
ApplyAtlas is not affiliated with QS, Common App, UCAS, or the universities listed. Their names identify the schools and services relevant to your applications. External websites have their own terms.
